Learn to utilize your adversities. You cannot enjoy your life to it fullest until you can embrace the darkness as well as the light. It is the nature of being human to move through highs and lows. Your highs render a light euphoric feeling while the difficult times manifest a negative emotional response and also a physical reaction that is not pleasant. Whether you are frightened, resisting, tired, angry, jealous, grief stricken or simply sad, sensations of heaviness, a tugging, hollowness, a racing heart, pulsing heat, or all of the above can manifest in the body. The event that has caused the disturbance might be too painful to view in any other manner and that is how it should be, but learning to work with the physical sensations that have been created and see them as useful sacred tools can change the complexion of your situation and quickly bring you to a more centered space. You must allow yourself to treat the adversity with respect and see the physical discomfort as the rungs of a ladder that beckons to be climbed. If you simply distance yourself from the sensations, hold tight so as not to show emotion, or work toward throwing the pain at someone else by pointing the finger of blame, then you learn nothing and you stay stagnant and your bodily discomforts multiply.

We can focus long and hard on our adversities, and the longer we focus on them and see them as our undoing, the bigger and more complicated they become. When in truth, it simply IS. It is where you are now. Honor it for what it is. It is the resisting of it that keeps it the same. If there are not those moments of contrast to teach you, you would be a prisoner in sameness. You must learn to allow yourself to feel pain so you may also feel your joy. If you do not allow yourself feel, you become numb. You’re asleep. You resist and become veiled so you miss life. Every part of your life is important to your growth, all the events share equal importance.

………You may say “But my things are more difficult and more complicated more painful than others.” And we say it is still your life to lead. It’s still all about learning Life is about learning. Life is complicated and intrinsically problematic by design. Whether it be your job, your family, your health or a lost loved one, even if you were sitting here with a terminally ill disease I would be saying the same thing. It is your life. It is your chance to learn. The possibility of growth is yours. It is the Universal Law.

We are through.
